Imphal: People should take initiatives for Covid-19 testing as early detection of Covid infection can prevent from widespread, Sekmai MLA H. Dingo Singh said.
MLA in a press note said as a part of the initiatives taken to prevent the wide spread of the contagion, RAT mobile testing for the people of the constituency has been continuing.
In connection with the testing drive of 6th and 7th phase was conducted at Kanglatongbi Hindi Higher Secondary School and Awang Sekmai Nilapadama School on Wednesday.
During the drive a total of 269 persons were conducted RAT test.
He said the 1st phase of RAT mobile testing for the Sekmai Assembly Constituency was launched on May 14. Starting from the 1st phase including 6th and 7th phase a total of 1049 persons have been conducted RAT test and 194 persons were tested positive.
The persons who were tested positive were admitted to Covid Care centre located at Lamboikhongnangkhong, Imphal West and some of them are staying at community home isolation centre opened at CHIC, Senjam Khunou; CHIC Tera Urak; CHIC, Lamlongei and CHIC, Phumlou.
He said for serious Covid positive patient an ambulance has been kept reserved for transportation at CCC, Lamboikhongnangkhong and National Sports University CCC.
For the entire Sekmai assembly constituency one CHIC will be opened at Khurkhul Sadar Patel Higher Secondary School from June 4, he added.
Dingo appealed the people to volunteer themselves for Covid test to support while fighting for a Covid free state.
