Imphal: Intending Bharatiya Janata Party candidate of Uripok Assembly Constituency, Kh. Suresh asks why only 3 kg rice is distributed to the Natinal Food Security Act (NFSA) card holders of Uripok Assembly Constituency instead of distributing 5 kg.
Suresh asked this drawing the attention of chief minister, N. Biren and DC, Imphal West to monitor the rice distribution difference.
Suresh through a video said to reduce the suffering faced by the people in the Covid-19 second wave. Prime Minster Narendra Modi announced to distribute 5 kg rice to the NFSA card holders for the month of May-June.
However, for Uripok Assembly Constituency where deputy chief minister is the local MLA distributed only 3 kg rice to the NFSA beneficiaries instead of 5 kg, he added.
“It is unfortunate that elected representatives should give more priority to help the needy at the time of pandemic but the local MLA is violating the rights of his own people of Uripok assembly constituency,” Suresh said.
Pointing out an example he said in the neighbouring Constituencies including Thangmeiband, Patsoi and Singjamei 5 kg of rice is distributed to the NFSA beneficiaries.
Suresh said he has been providing necessary assistance to the needy people of the assembly constituency and will give more priority to the person with disabilities and orphans who have been affected due to the pandemic.
To get assistance any person of the Constituency can contact the helpline number +91 93625 84598, he added.
