Imphal: Manipur is recovering from Covid-19 pandemic as mortality rate has become single digit while the positive case decreases.
Manipur chief minister N. Biren said this on Monday during International Yoga Day observed at auditorium hall of state BJP office at Nityaipat Chuthek, Imphal, here.
Vaccination is compulsory to prevent from the deadly virus Biren said.
\Keeping a habit of regular exercise including practicing of Yoga in daily life will strengthen immune system which will help defending Covid-19 attack, he added.
The practice of Yoga has been recognised by United Nations and due to the reason, the day is observed as 7th International Yoga Day under the theme “Yoga for well being” across the world, Biren said.
The BJP members of the state have been taking various initiatives by giving necessary assistance including awareness on Covid-19 to the people who are suffering from the pandemic. The awareness on the contagion will be intensified with collaboration with the sportsperson, he added.
National spokesperson, BJP, Sambit Patra also attended the celebration. He said Yoga is an important means to protect the mankind. Common people get easily suffer from Covid-19 however, people who have a habit of regular exercise, yogis, sportsmen are hard to get infected.
Manipuris have a healthy life style with healthy diet and people should continue such food habit in order to strengthen the immune system while fighting Covid-19.
