Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Thursday visited Dharamshala at Thangal Bazar and witnessed the arrangement of meals to be provided to different hospitals and Covid Care centres in the state.
Milan Enterprises, Thangal Bazar had been sponsoring the meals provided by Bazar Community to over a thousand inmates undergoing treatment at different Covid Care centres for more than 10 days.
Biren was moved while seeing the arrangement made by the volunteers for providing the service. He expressed his sincere gratitude to Milan Enterprises and Bazar community for voluntarily coming out and providing humanitarian service in this crucial time of the Covid-19 pandemic. He also stressed on the need to join hands and work together to fight the pandemic successfully.
Biren was accompanied by CAF and PD minister Thokchom Satyabrata, and advisor to chief minister (health) Dr Sapam Ranjan in his visit.
The chief ministerial team also visited Porompat to take stock of the ongoing civil work carried out to install a 20 KL Liquid Medical Oxygen Cryogenic Storage Tank.
Biren instructed the concerned officials to speed up the construction work as the said storage tank is likely to reach the state in a couple of days.
Chairman, Loktak Development Authority L. Susindro and principal secretary V. Vumlunmang also joined the chief minister during the inspection.
Biren also inspected the foundation work carried out for construction of District Hospital, Imphal East at Kyamgei Mayai Leikai under Keirao Assembly Constituency.
He instructed the implementing agency to complete the foundation work at the earliest before the monsoon arrives in the state and asked MLA Keirao AC L. Rameshwor to closely monitor the ongoing works.
