BJP protests amid Covid crisis

Imphal: While Manipur faces Covid-19 attacks volunteers of BJP Manipur on Wednesday staged protest rallies in different parts of the state amid the containment measures taken up by the government.

Joining the nationwide BJP protest against post-election incidents in West Bengal election, state BJP also conducted sit-in rallies ranging from booth level to state level amid the intensified state government’s order to avoid mass gathering.

Lok Sabha MP, RK Ranjan told reporters here that the recent election of West Bengal is the darkest election in the history of election in India.

Ranjan said West Bengal has been known in the Indian history for its advance thinking then others but Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress has spoiled the reputation of West Bengal. By using unfair means Mamata won the recent election in West Bengal, he added.

He alleged that during the election BJP workers were assaulted brutally by Trinamool workers in the post election as more than 400 houses of BJP workers were burnt down and killed many of them.

Ranjan said Mamata do not have moral right to swear as chief minister of West Bengal as she won the election by violating the meaning of democracy.

The protest was conducted at Sekmai, Lamshang, Konthoujam, Patsoi, Langthabal, naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Wangoi, Mayang Imphal and at Jiribam.

During the protest, slogans “5 BJP workers killers in West Bengal since results game out”, “this is the death of democracy” ,“Mamata Banerjee be charged for murder?” ,“president rule( PR) only option to stop violence in West Bengal” were raised.
