Imphal: Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) will start taking necessary steps against drug dealers to root out drug from the state, MLA Kh Joykisan, who is also patron member of TAKDO, said on the launching of annual calendar of the organisation on Thursday.
The calendar was launched at the residence of Joykisan at Thangmeiband, here.
Youths and people have become victims of drug. The society may submerge in few years if drugs are not totally rooted out, Joykishan said.
The Congress MLA said demolition of a concrete bridge leading to Mt Koubru might be due to some political instigation. He appealed to those people who were involved in the destruction of the bridge to renovate it at the earliest.
In connection with the incident some people are trying to mislead the society which could result to communal riots. Such practice should be avoided immediately, he added.
The concrete bridge was demolished on Wednesday morning.
Pointing out the issue for unable on clearance budgets for PWD, Joykisan said the state government should give an assurance when the pending amounts for contractors are to be delivered.
Works minster failed to deliver his assurance made on the floor of the House to sanction the amounts for renovation of some roads in Thangmeiband assembly constituency. Failure to fulfill an assurance made on the floor of the House is violation of dignity of the House, Joykishan said.
The Covid-19 second wave in the country has started reaching Manipur. People need to take initiatives by following Covid guidelines without waiting the initiatives from the state government, he added.
