Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Monday inspected medical oxygen plants at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).
There is adequate stock of medical oxygen in the state, Biren said.
The PSA oxygen plants at JNIMS will start functioning within 2/3days. It will produce oxygen for 50 D type cylinders per day along with pipelines supply to wards (42 cu.m/hr.), he added.
He took stock of the oxygen plant at RIMS that is already supplying the essential oxygen to the wards and Covid units in the hospital.
Biren also visited the Covid Care Centre at Indoor Hall of Bal Bhawan, Khuman Lampak, to take stock of the temporary Covid Care Centre, for opening it again after it was closed down in December 2020.
This Covid Care Centre will be exclusively for women patients. Another Centre for male patients will be developed at the state-run Youth Hostel inside Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, he said on his Facebook wall.
Manipur on Sunday recorded two Covid related death cases and 140 fresh postive cases.
There are 805 active cases in the state. The cumulative number of positive cases has gone up to 30,421. The recovery rate has fallen to 96.08 percent as on Sunday.
As per the latest report 129099 individuals have been vaccinated in Manipur.
