Imphal: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee has lambasted the BJP led Manipur government over its celebration of ‘4 years of citizen-centric BJP government in Manipur’.
Manipur PCC spokesperson O. Joy raised several questions on the achievements claimed by the present government in the state, as he addressed a press conference at MPCC office here on Saturday.
How can people accept this government as a citizen centric? Joy asked.
Joy said there is no ground reality of Swachh Bharat Mission in Manipur. The UPA had earlier launched Total Sanitaion Campaign.
“How many blue and green waste bins are there in different wards in Manipur?” He asked. The Manipur BJP government reported on October 2, 2018 was contradicted by Union government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission Report of 2019. This is lie caught by Modi government itself against the Manipur government, he added.
“Who bears the total expenses of the celebration of four years of citizen-centric BJP government in Manipur,” Joy asked.
He said 22,730 saplings were planted in the last four years for afforestation. Where are they now? Where is the afforestation in the state? He questioned.
In connection with the Chief Minister-gi Hakchelgi Tengbang (CMHT), 6.7 lakh were enrolled. Only 0.1 percent of the enrolment got treatment. Many patients had to pay for their own treatment in the name of non-availability of free medicines meant for the patient, under CMHT, the MPCC said.
Joy said patients increased from 57,304 in 2017-18 to 1,77,587 in 2019-20 because of the upgradation of 172 Health and Wellness centres. How can the increase in the enrolment of the patients be a sign of better health the state? He asked.
It is surprising that the state government is proclaiming itself as citizen centric government, though the government has not taken up any prominent works in the interest of the public and democracy, the political leader said.
He said the Biren led government is a government of propaganda and publicity. It takes up developmental works only on tables and newspaper advertisements.
The government renames the already existed schemes fooling the public by introducing them as new schemes, he added.
