Imphal: A combined team of Narcotic Cell, Imphal East, 38 Assam Rifles, Khurkhul and the embers of YADA apprehended three persons from Kyamgei Oinam Loukol on Tuesday afternoon along with 10 carton boxes containing 1180 bottles of Torvirex codeine cough syrup (100 ml) and one Chevrolet UVA car bearing registration number. No. AS01 AH-6396.
The apprehended persons were identified as Salim Malik. 41, son of Abdul Salam Khergao Chandam, Imphal East, Anish Shah, 37, son of late Karim Shah Lilong
Turel Ahanbi and Yahiya Khan, 49, son of (L) Helaluddin Khan Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai.
The said cough syrup belongs to Salim Malik. Anish and Yahiya were transporters.
The seized cough syrup is about Rs.2.36, 000 in local value, police said.
