Imphal: Deputy commissioner, Kakching has cautioned to punish people dealing in wildlife meat products trade as per Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972.
In a notification issued by deputy commissioner Kengoo Zuringla said incidence of wild life crime like hunting and killing of wild animals and birds and selling the meat products in wet markets have been reported in some districts.
It urged people of the district not to indulge in selling and trading of wildlife products which is a provision of the wildlife (Protection) Act 1972.
Any person who contravenes/ violates this Act is punishable under section 51 of the Act, it added.
