Imphal: Works minister Thongam Biswajit Singh on Saturday inspected the site for construction of deputy commissioner’s office complex at Longmai Part I, Noney district headquarter.
Addressing a function at Paling Palaojang (PLZ) ground, Longmai Part I, Noney, state government spokesperson Biswajit said the project has an administrative approval amount of Rs 17.49 crore and work order amounting to Rs 15 crore (approximately).
There was delay in starting of the project due to certain issues pertaining to finalisation of the site, he added.
Chief minister N. Biren Singh laid the foundation stone for the infrastructural development on March 5, 2019.
Stressing that he finds the site suitable for the construction, Biswajit said the visit was made under the guidance of the chief minister to physically inspect the site so that the site can be finalised and construction be started at the earliest.
He observed that the site is just about 15-20 minutes drive from the highway and not very steep as was previously conceived.
He assured to look into the different demands of the people including road development, power supply, etc. submitted through separate memoranda.
Manipur will prosper and develop only when the people work together. The present government believes in delivering outputs for the welfare of the public, he said.
