Imphal: Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur on Wednesday locked the offices of the secretary and the examination controller of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur.
The student body took up the office locking agitation demanding to appoint secretary and examination controller for which the post remained vacant since December 28 last after the employees retired on the previous day.
DESAM complains that with no secretary and examination controller students are facing problems in official processes.
“Also, after students missed their schools for a long period due to Covid-19 the state government is taking up measures to reopen schools and to conduct board exams. However, the silence of the government to fill the vacant important posts of the state board,” general secretary of the student body L. Lamyanba said.
He said DESAM has taken up the agitation as the state authority failed to listen to the repeated appeals of the student body to fill the vacant posts.
The student body has cautioned to continue agitations against failure to meet the demand.
More than 19 schools in India have partially reopened and tentative schedule for CBSE examinations has been fixed, Lamyanba said.
