Imphal: Education minister S. Rajen Singh has appealed the teachers community to shoulder responsibility to impart best education to the students of the state.
The minister was speaking to media during the inauguration function of new buildings of New Ideal Government High School, ThoubalNingombem and Wngjing Government High School, Wangjing in Thoubal district on Tuesday.
Rajen, in a function held at Wangjing High School after the inauguration of new building constructed at New Ideal Government High School, ThoubalNingombem said it is the responsibility of the government particularly the education department to improve the infrastructures of the government schools. He said under the School Fagathansi Mission seven newly constructed buildings in Thanlon, Patsoi, Sagolband, Thongju, Keisamthong, Thoubal and WangjingTentha Assembly Constituencies respectively have been inaugurated in this current year as second and third phase. Such campaign will continue for other constituencie too, he added.
He maintained that understanding the low income of the households of the state the government has been introducing many schemes to boost the education sector. Many central sponsored schemes have also been launched. If these projects and schemes are implemented fully there will be a decline in the number of school drop-out students in the state, he added.
Mere policies of the government without action will do nothing with development. Public cooperation is quite necessary in the regard. The government has a long vision to improve education system in the state. The enrolment of the students to government schools has also been increased during the recent years, the minister said.
