Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh appeals to the people of the state not to support drug smugglers and poppy cultivators.
The chief minister’s appeal came after handing over of two minor drug users from Kwatha Khuman to Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA) on Saturday.
“Pls see how shocking the drug situation of Manipur is. Only 15/16 years old children have become drugs addicts. How many of such children has been affected in the state?” Biren posted on his Facebook wall.
Fearing for the future generation in the state the chief minister said,” We are in a very serious situation because of illegal drugs. Yesterday two minor drug users aged 15 years and 16 years, both of Kwakta Khuman were handed over to IRCA Torbung Bangla by MRG/ PS in consultation with their family members.
“Pease don’t support drug smugglers and poppy planters,” Biren appeals.
