Imphal: Union home minister Amit Shah laid foundation stones for seven major projects in Manipur in presence of chief minister N. Biren Singh and Union minister of state (I/C), ministry of DONER, at a public gathering here, on Sunday.
Amit Shah laid the foundation stones of Churachandpur Medical College, IIT at Mayangkhang/Mantripukhri, IT-SEZ at Mantripukhri, 3rd Manipur Bhawan at Dwarka, State government guest house “Shanglen” at Imphal, state police headquarter building at Imphal, and Integrated Command and Control Centre under Smart City, Imphal.
The estimated costs of these projects were Rs 325 crore, Rs 128 crore, Rs 950 crore, Rs 167 crore, Rs 237.49 crore, Rs 50 crore and Rs 29.5 crore respectively.
Amit Shah also inaugurated Thoubal Multi Purpose project which estimated cost is Rs 1998.99 crore and Bishnupur -Toupul–Thoubal-Kasom Khullen road at the estimated cost Rs 475.68 crore.
He also launched State-wide Roll-out of e-office.
Security measures have been beefed up in Imphal particularly in and around Hapta Kangjeibung, the venue where the union minister addressing the public gathering.
Amit Shah was on a two-day visit to Northeast. He visited Assam on Saturday and laid the foundation stones for several projects in the state.
