Imphal: Manipur witnessed 7 more deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of deaths to 318.
They are 2 males aged 64 and 85 years from Imphal East, 1 female aged 56 years from Imphal West, 1 male aged 78 years from Bishnupur and 3 males aged 65, 69 and 67 years from Imphal West districts. They expired at Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity, JNIMS and RIMS.
In the past 24 hours, 138 persons were confirmed positive for the virus out of which 122 are from general population and the remaining 16 are personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). They were tested at JNIMS (28), RIMS (40), Imphal East (3), Imphal West (5), Swiss (1), Peace (4), Escent Diagnostics (3), Hillside (1), Shija Hospital (6), Advance Hospital (1), RD Wing (1), Raj Medicity (9), Bishnupur (11), Kakching (1), Churachandpur (2), Ukhrul (4), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (4), Chandel (7), Kangpokpi (1), Noney (1) and Babina Diagnostics (4).
Among the positive cases from general population, 65 are males and 57 are females. They belong to Imphal West (51), Imphal East (24), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (17), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (4), Tamenglong (4), Tengnoupal (1), Chandel (7), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (2), Noney (1) and Churachandpur (1) districts.
“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room.
Meanwhile, 135 persons were recovered and discharged from CAPF (8), Home Isolation (85), RIMS (16), LKK (2), UNACCO (3), RD Wing (3), Shija Hospital (6), Rajmed (3), PR Kakching (2), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (2), Tamenglong (1) and Jiribam (1).
The cumulative number of positive cases is 26,534 with 23,329 from general population and 3,205 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 23,301 out of which 20,375 are from general population and 2,926 are from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 2,915 with 2,640 and 275 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 87.81%.
