Imphal: Manipur recorded a surge in COVID-19 recoveries with 356 recovered and discharged in the past 24 hours. The patients were recovered from CAPF (2), Home Isolation (101), LKK (3), LANVA (2), UNACCO (12). PR Kakching (2), JNV Chandel (14), Bal Bhavan (6), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (19), Tamenglong (13) and Kangpokpi (2) including the other 173 backlog recovery cases reported from Shija Hospital on Monday.
In the past 24 hours, 250 persons were confirmed positive of COVID-19 out of which 248 were from general population and 2 were Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel. They were tested at JNIMS (103), RIMS (33), Imphal East (5), Imphal West (13), Mother’s Care (1), Lamjingba (1), Jivan Hospital (2), CMC (2), SWISS (9), Samaritan (2), Asian Hospital (2), Escent Diagnostics (2), Shija Hospital (9), Christian Hospital (1), Public Hospital (3), Raj Medicity (9), Thoubal (25), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (6), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (1), Kangpokpi (5) and Babina Diagnostics (12).
The 248 positive cases from general population includes the 23 new positive cases that were detected during the post-by-election targeted testing in Lilong and Wangjing assembly constituencies on Monday. Among them, 136 were males and 112 were females. They belong to Imphal West (69), Imphal East (106), Thoubal (40), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (5), Chandel (1), Ukhrul (3), Tamenglong (7), Churachandpur (4), Senapati (4) and Kangpokpi (5) districts.
“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID Common Control Room in their 5pm report on Monday.
Meanwhile, a male aged 63 years and a female aged 65 years expired at Shija Hospital and District Hospital Churachandpur respectively. Both of them belong to Churachandpur district. The cumulative number of deaths is 238.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 23,650 with 20,601 from general population and 3,049 from central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 20,374 out of which 17,618 are from general population and 2,756 are from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 3,038 with 2,749 and 289 cases from general population and central security personnel respectively. The recovery rate is 86.14%.
