Manipur reports 159 fresh COVID-19 cases, recovery rate stands at 85.84%

Imphal: In the past 24 hours, 159 persons were confirmed positive due to COVID-19, out of which 153 persons were from general population and 6 other were from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

According to the 5pm COVID-19 report on Tuesday, the positive persons were tested at JNIMS (32), RIMS (17), Imphal East (3), Imphal West (18), Maipakpi (2), Escent Diagnostics (7), CMC (1), Samaritan (1), Raj Medicity (3), RD Wing (3), Hillside (3), Shija Hospital (9), Jivan Hospital (1), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (7), Tamenglong (8), Ukhrul (1), Kangpokpi (1), Churachandpur (10), Senapati (3), Chandel (4), Jiribam (4), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (1) and Babina Diagnostics (10).

Out of 153 positive cases from general population, 84 were reported as males and 69 were females. They are from Imphal West (48), Imphal East (34), Thoubal (10), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1), Tamenglong (9), Churachandpur (17), Kangpokpi (3), Tengnoupal (3), Chandel (7), Noney (3), Jiribam (4) and Senapati (4) respectively.

“All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” said COVID-19 common control room.

While a male patient aged 53 years from Imphal East district expired at Raj Medicity, Imphal, other 233 patients were recovered and discharged in the past 24 hours. They are from CAPF (49), Home Isolation (91), RIMS (6), JNIMS (1), LKK (12), UNACCO (19), Sadbhavna (1), RD Wing (8), TK Ukhrul (1), PR Kakching (5), JNV Chandel (1), Thoubal (25), Bishnupur (7), Jiribam (6) and Moreh (1).

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 22,208 out of which 19,294 belong to general population and the remaining 2,914 belong to central security personnel. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 19,065 with 16,364 from general population and 2,701 from central security personnel. The number of active cases is 2,918 out of which 2,709 are from general population and 209 are from central security personnel. The cumulative number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 225 with 221 from general population central and 4 from security personnel. The recovery rate is also increased to 85.84%.
