Henry inspects various institution under Social Welfare department

Imphal: Minister for Social Welfare Henry Okram today conducted a surprise inspection of various institutions under Social Welfare Department.

The inspection include Government Ideal Blind School, Government Deaf and Mute School, Observation home, Women Training Institute, Working Women Hostel, Juvenile Home and Special Home located at Takyel, Imphal West and Bal Bhawan, Khuman Lampak. The Minister was accompanied by Director Social Welfare Ng. Uttam and other officials of the department.

During the visit, the Minister instructed the officials of the department to provide proper care and facilities to all those residing at Juvenile Home, Special Home and Observation home, Takyel. Henry Okram said that it is the collective responsibility of each and every stakeholder to ensure that the children who are staying in these homes are provided special care with human touch.

Henry Okram shared his wish to the officials for the construction of a proper playground where physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of the children can be enhanced. He also directed the concern officials to remove or dismantle the dilapidated structures or building inside the Observation home, Takyel. (DIPR)
