Imphal: In the last 24 hours till Monday 5 pm, eight persons died of COVID-19 pushing COVID related death toll to 281.
COVID patients aged 71 years (male, Imphal East), 80 years (male, Imphal West), 54 years (male, Imphal West), 76 years (female, Imphal East), 62 years (male, Imphal West), 90 years (male, Imphal East), 71 years (male, Imphal West) and 70 years (male, Bishnupur) expired at Raj Medicity (1), Shija Hospital (2) JNIMS (2) and RIMS Hospital (3) respectively.
COVID-19 common control room said, in the past twenty-four hours, 135 persons from general population were confirmed as new positive cases.
The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West (44), Imphal East (45), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (14), Tamenglong (4), Ukhrul (1), Churachandpur (4), Jiribam (1) and Chandel (1). “All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place,” the control room said.
It said the total number of discharged persons is 165.
The cumulative number of positive cases was 25,045 (General Population – 21,963 and central security personnel – 3,082). The number of active cases was 3,198 (general population – 2,900 and central security personnel – 298). The recovery rate was 86.10 percent.
The serosurveillance study on COVID-19 prevalence has started in the selected four districts – Churachandpur, Imphal West, Kakching and Ukhrul districts of Manipur.
