Imphal: With the confirmation 214 fresh COVID-19 positive cases cumulative number of positive cases has reached 16, 276 in Manipur on Wednesday.
In the past 24 hours till 5 pm, 208 persons (96 males, 112 females) from general population and six personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.
The positive cases were from RIMS (17), Chandel (7), Raj Medicity (2), Bishnupur (20), Churachandpur (16), Imphal East (5), Kakching (3), Noney (2), RD Wing (1), Senapati (4), Tengnoupal (3), Thoubal (15), Ukhrul (1), JNIMS (31), Escent (3), Babina Diagnostics (32), Shija Hospital (13), Hillside Hospital (1), Tamenglong (33), CMC (1), Asian Hospital (1) and Kangpokpi (3).
The positive cases from general population were from Imphal West (35), Imphal East (55), Thoubal (20), Ukhrul (3), Noney (2), Chandel (8), Kangpokpi (3), Kakching (4), Tamenglong (34), Churachandpur (10), Tengnoupal (4), Senapati (6) and Bishnupur (24).
All were locals without any significant travel history. They were being shifted to the COVID care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place, according to COVID-19 common control room.
It said, in the last 24 hours, three persons aged 70 years (female, Thoubal), 60 years (female, Tengnoupal), 50 years (male, Thoubal) expired at Shija Hospital (3).
The cumulative number of deaths reached 124.
A total of 138 were discharged from CAPF (5), Home Isolation (10), RIMS (12), Lamding (17), Sadhbhavna (2), Lanva (1), RD Wing (8), UNACCO (30), LKK (20), Thoubal (11), Bishnupur (11), Senapati (3), PR Kakching (3) and Tamenglong (5).
The number of active cases was 3955 (general population – 3632 and central security personnel -323). The recovery rate was 74.93 percent.
