Imphal: As on Sunday evening two Covid-19 patients expired while 139 were tested positive and 189 patients were recovered.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 7022; the cumulative number of recovered cases is 5164; and the number of active cases is 1820 (General Population -1282 and Central Security Personnel 538).The recovery rate is 73.54 percent, state Covid-19 control room said.
The two new victims of Covid-19 were a 53 years old man from Thoubal district and the other a 31 years old female. They expired at JNIMS and RIMS respectively from Covid 19 and other comorbid conditions, it added.
The cumulative number of Covid related deaths has reached 38.
Out of the 139 new positive cases 18 were personnel from the Central Armed Police Force.
The new cases of 121 from the general population are from Imphal West – 74; Imphal East 21; Senapati – 1; Ukhrul – 2; Tamenglong 1; Thoubal – 18; Churachandpur- 2 and Bishnupur – 2.
“All are locals without any significant travel history.” They are being shifted to the Covid care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.
