130 tested positive for Covid-19, one expired, 120 recovered

As on Tuesday evening a 55 years old female expired due to Covid-19 at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences increasing Covid-19 related death toll 29

In the past 24 hours, 127 persons from the general population and three personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases, state Covid-19 common control room said.

The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 17; VRDL, JNIMS – 4; Raj Medicity 4; Ukhrul 2; Thoubal – 19; Shija Hospital 2; Babina Diagnostics 12; Kangpokpi 2; Imphal West – 50; Jiribam 63; Churachandpur – 6; Bishnupur – 3; Imphal East 2; Tamenglong – 1. They are from Imphal West – 60; Imphal East 5; Thoubal – 22; Ukhrul -2; Bishnupur – 7; Churachandpur 6; Senapati – 2; Kangpokpi 2; Tamenglong 14; Jiribam 6.

Only 2 from Tamneglong out of the general population are returnees from other states while the rest 125 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.

It said in the past twenty-four hours, 120 persons were discharged. They are from CAPF (54), CCC Lamboikhongnangkhong (38), UNACCO (14), PR Kakching (2), RD Wing (2), TK Ukhrul (1), Senapati (2), CCC Noney (5) and Tamenglong (2) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 6382 (general population -4782 and central security pPersonnel -1600). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 4450 (general population-3566 and central security personnel – 884). The number of active cases is 1903 (general population -1189 and central security personnel -714). The recovery rate is 69.72 percent, it added.

As part of intensive awareness drive, Miking is being continued in Imphal West. The areas are Sayang Road, Sega Road Thokchom Leikai, Hodam Leirak, Takhel Leikai, Khagempalli Elangbam Leikai, Yaiskul, Keisampat, Thangmeiband, Nagamapal and Sagolband Meino Leirak, the control room said.
