Imphal: A 37-year old Covid-19 patient passed away at RIMS while 130 new positive cases and 64 recovered cases have been reported on Thursday.
The deceased is a NAB police personnel. He was among those five persons who were tested positive after a positive female accused was produced at NDPS court.
He was admitted at RIMS on August 4.
According to Covid-19 common control room the deceased person is from Imphal West. He has a history of hypertension and expired at RIMS due to Covid 19. The cumulative number of deaths has reached 13.
In the past twenty-four hours, 91 personsfrom general population and 39 personnel from Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases, the control room informed.
The positive cases are from VRDL, RIMS – 57; STDC/IRL — 1; Raj Medicity — 5; Shija Hospital — 1; DH Chandel – 5; DH Churachandpur -7; DH Thoubal — 43; Imphal West RAT — 5; Babina Diagnostics – 6. They are from Imphal West – 24; Thoubal – 47; Imphal East – 12; Churachandpur – 4; Senapati – 1; Bishnupur – 3.
Only 4 from Churachandpur out of the general population are returnees from other states and the rest 87 are locals without any significant travel history, the control room said.
They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
It said in the past twenty-four hours, 64 persons were discharged. They are from RIMS (1), Covid care centres of Meitram (40), Kakching (15), Kamjong (4) and Phungyar (4) after they were found Covid-19 free on RT PCR test.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 4112 (General Population —3177 and Central Security Personnel – 935). The cumulative number of discharged cases is 2295 (General Population – 2123 and Central Security Personnel-172). The number of active cases is 1804 (General Population-1041 and Central Security Personnel – 763). The recovery rate is 55.81 percent, it said.
