Imphal: Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) has warned that it will book any individual who disposes waste materials at improper place, and appealed all to enrol to door-to-door waste collection service agencies.
IMC mayor L. Lokeshor said this during a cleanliness drive conducted on Friday at Khwairamband temporary market, Imphal.
The cleanliness drive was started in connection with the ‘no plastic day’ observation at Lamdeng in collaboration with their local clubs, he said.
To make the society healthy people need to take cleanliness initiatives. Many people dispose waste at dark corners during the wee hour. IMC will start conducting drive against those individuals who are trying to dispose waste freely at various dark spots. The corporation or its enforcement team will book those individual to take necessary legal action, the mayor said.
He said the drive will be continued at different parts of the city, specially at market places.
