Imphal: In an attempt to promote performing art, Manipur government is organising online cultural festivals. In a press statement issued by department of Art and Culture, government of Manipur said, a series of festivals will be organised by the department in collaboration with Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (Ministry of Culture, Government of India), Kolkata. For the year 2020-21, festivals will be online festival due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The festival will start from July 2020 onwards. Participants of the festivals will be given remuneration as fixed by EZCC. Folk Dance Rs. 1000 per artiste, Folk Song/Instrument – Rs. 1000 per artiste, Classical Dance (Solo) – Rs. 2000 per artiste, Classical Dance (Group) – Rs. 1500 per artiste, Mime Theatre – Rs. 1500 per artiste, Workshop – Trainers @ Rs. 1000 per day per person, Others @ Rs. 800 per day per person.
To participate in the festivals, interested performing artistes of the state my contact Director (Art & Culture) at the Directorate of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur Palace Compound, Imphal during office hour for details on or before 18th July 2020. Visitors are also instructed to maintain social distancing and other Covid related SOPs strictly, the statement added.
