Imphal: A NHM (National Health Mission) staff on duty at COVID Control Room opened at the Datshan hall of Manipur chief minister’s secretariat has been tested positive for COVID-19.
Measures have been taken up to test all staff on duty at the Darshan hall and security personnel who have contact with the positive staff, a source said.
Another person serving at the head office of NHM was also tested positive for the contagion, the source said. The person is a resident of 2nd Manipur Rifles complex.
Manipur COVID-19 common control room said in the past twenty four hours, 30 persons including five females were confirmed as new positive confirmed at RIMS (24), JNIMS (1) and DHs of Thoubal (1) and Ukhrul (4).
A meeting of the State Consultative Committee for COVID-19 was held at the chief minister’s office which ‘minutely’ discussed on the local transmission scenario in districts of Jiribam, Thoubal, Churachandpur and Chil Chil CRPF camp, Leikhampokpi, Kangpokpi.
Stringent contact tracing was being done and continued to trace out possible positive cases, chief minister N.Biren Singh said.
The committee resolved to strictly enforce the statewide lockdown and SOPs to check further spread, he added.
It said all (except 3 persons from Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal) are returnees from other states. All necessary medical measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the past twenty four hours, 29 persons were discharged from the COVID Care facilities of RIMS ( I), Meitram (1), RD Wing Lamphel (1), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (11), Senapati (11) and Chandel (1).
The cumulative number of positive cases was 2176. The number of active and recovered cases were 656 and 1520 respectively. The recovery rate stood at 69.85 percent.
