Imphal: Indian Medical Association, Manipur state branch has ‘strongly” condemned the manner in which the doctors and healthcare providers involved in the Covid-19 treatment in the state are made to pay for hotel quarantine as per the secretariat memorandum issued on June 29.
While other states are providing free quarantine even in five star hotels, the way the Covid-19 frontlines in the state are made to pay for the hotel quarantine comes as a mockery to their dedications and commitments in fighting the pandemic. “Such an inconsiderate decision on the part of the authority will definitely dampened the moral of the Covid-19 frontlines,” IMA, Manipur said in a press release on Tuesday.
The association appeals to the concerned authority to immediately revoke the secretariat memorandum in the larger interest of the state.
Indian Medical Association Manipur, state branch remains committed in supporting the decisions made by the All Manipur Health Services Doctors Association, Teachers and Medical Officers Association, RIMS and JNIMS Teachers Association in this regard, the medical association said.
