Imphal: Three male adults aged 48, 47 and 60 respectively from Leimakhong of Kangpokpi district, Langol of Imphal West and Moijing from Thoubal district expired at RIMS and JNIMS due to co-morbid health conditions and COVID-19 and the cumulative number of COVID-19 related deaths increased to four.
According to an official information, in the past twenty-four hours, 47 persons including 10 females were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases at the VRDLs of RIMS (4), JNIMS (30), Churachandpur (2), Babina Diagnostic Centre (3), Imphal West RAT (3) and Shija Hospital RAT (5). Out of the them 18 are security personnel. They belong to Imphal West (13), Thoubal (2), Imphal East (14), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (10), Churachandpur (5) and Tengnoupal (1) districts.
All, except two from Thoubal and 13 from Imphal West were returnees from other states. They were being shifted to the COVID Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state COVID-19 common control room said.
It said in the past twenty-four hours, 19 persons were discharged from JNIMS (4), CCCs of Meitram (2), Ukhrul (3), Kakching (2) and Kamjong (1) and RD Wing (7) after they were found free from the contagion.
The cumulative number of positive cases stood at 2,505. The numbers of active and recovered cases were 829 and 1,672 respectively. The recovery rate was 66.90 percent.
