Imphal: Forty-five persons including five females were confirmed as positive COVID-19 in Manipur as on Wednesday.
The new positive cases were confirmed at VRDL JNIMS (21), DHs of Jiribam (13), Thoubal (4) and Ukhrul (7), an official information said.
They belong to the districts of Churachandpur (12), Imphal East (4), Jiribam (13) and Thoubal (4), Senapati (5) and Ukhrul (7), it added.
They are being shifted to the COVID care facilities. All (except the four individuals with contact history from Thoubal district) are returnees from other states. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state COVID-19 common control room said in press release on Wednesday.
Thirty-four persons were discharged from COVID care centres of Meitram, Imphal West (23), JNV, Kangpokpi (3) and COVID Care Facilities of RIMS (2) and JNIMS (6) after they were found COVID 19 free on RT PCR test, in the last 24 hours, the control said.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 2060. The numbers of active and recovered cases are 642 and 1418 respectively. The recovery rate is 68.83 percent, it added.
It is clarified that there is no report of any death due to COVID-19 from any part of the state, the control room said and reminded that a personnel of the 37′ AR posted at Pailanpool of Cachar district, Assam was found COVID-19 positive and treated at Silchar Medical College and expired there on July 19,
