Imphal: Manipur chief minister’s secretariat complex has been declared a containment zone after a National Health Mission (NHM) staff on duty at the complex was tested positive for COVID-19.
Deputy commissioner, Imphal West in an order issued on Sunday made the declaration in exercise of the powers conferred under “The Manipur Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020” and in pursuance of the advisory of the Director General of Health Services (EMR Division), ministry of health and family welfare.
The positive NHM staff was engaged with the COVID-19 Common Control Room opened at the chief minister’s secretariat. He has a history of travelling to Senapati on July 21. He along with one colleague had met the COVID-19 positive doctor from Lilong Haoreibi posted at Senapati. After returning from Senapati, he had also attended the COVID-19 Common Control Room on July 22.
The deputy commissioner also declared a segment of Lamphel area in Imphal West another containment zone after a resident of Lamphel CP Quarter was tested positive for COVID-19. The zone covers CP Quarter No. 30 in the north, Shija road in the West, CP Quarter No. 17 in the east and IVR in front of Home Guard Outpost, Shija Road in the West.
Any person or institution or organisation found violating any of the containment measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the order said.
Following confirmation of three residents of a Pishumthong, Imphal West positive for COVID-19 a segment covering Sarkari Lambi covered by CS Dag No. 2252 in the North, Mayal Lambi Road covered by CS Dag No. 2293, 43-Khagempalli in the East, homestead lands covered by CS Dag Nos. 2249, 2251, 2252, 2279 and 2435, 43-Khagempalli, in the West and Sarkari Lambi covered by CS Dag No. 2280, 43-Khagempalli in the South has been declared containment zone.
