Imphal: Ninety-three persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) as on Sunday evening.
Seventy-five of them were confirmed positive at RIMS while the remaining were confirmed at JNIMS.
Fifty-six of them were females and 37 were females.
They are from the districts of Churachandpur (10), Imphal East (2), Imphal West (1), Kakching (13), Kamjong (21), Noney (1), Tamenglong (14), Senapati (6) and Ukhrul (25). All are returnees from other states. They are being shifted to the COVID Care Facilities., Manipur COVID-19 common control room said.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
Twenty-three persons are discharged from CCC, Meitram (6), RIMS (10) and JNIMS (7) after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.
The total numbers of positive, active and recovered cases are 1185, 730 and 455 respectively. The recovery rate is 38.39 percent.
Twenty to 25 percent of people who have completed COVID-19 treatment or quarantine may suffer from social stigma. Such persons are no longer a source of COVID-19 transmission to others. They must be given support and should not be stigmatised. Isolation and loneliness during quarantine, can assert long lasting negative consequences on physical and mental well being, the control room said.
Feeling isolated can lead to poor sleep, poor cardiovascular health, lower immunity, impaired executive functions and depressive symptoms. Psychological help and counselling can be accessed through toll free round the clock helpline number 1800-345- 3818, it added.
