Imphal: Thirty-two inmates, including a pregnant woman, out of 34, who have been hospitalised at District Hospital Bishnupur which became COVID-19 isolation ward since June 8, have been ‘completely’ recovered from COVID-19 and sent home.
“Among the recovered was one pregnant women who even drew the attention of the office of Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations and other International Organisations,” chief medical officer, Bishnupur, Dr Gojendra Singh said in a press release on Saturday.
One among the inmates had to be referred to JNIMS because of his post heart operation, requiring regular and timely check-up and another was referred to CCC UNACO on his and his family’s request, he added.
There are four inmates currently admitted In the hospital. The recovery at District Hospital Bishnupur is 88.8%, he said.
It is to the credit of the devotion to duty and care the medical officers and staff of District Hospital Bishnupur has rendered that such a not so well equipped hospital has achieved so much. No staff has refused COVID-19 ward duty when they are assigned, the chief medical officer said.
