Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 30, 2020: Manipur government has administered measures to regulate the movements of trucks, tankers, LPG bullets and the drivers and handyman handling them during total lockdown.
The measures have been set following the clarification by the ministry of home affairs on Sunday that the transportation of all goods without distinction of essential and non-essential have been allowed.
The state home department in an official notification listed procedures to be adopted for the transport regulation measure.
Medical teams stationed at the inter-state borders of Jiribam and Mao shall medically examine the drivers and handymen and keep record indicating name and health condition.
The police team at these gates will record the registration number of the vehicle, goods it is carrying and the consignee of the goods, particulars of the driver including license number and mobile number and also the names and address of the handyman.
The information may be compiled six hourly or for a particular convoy of vehicles and transmitted to superintendent of police, Imphal West. The particulars relating to driver and handyman including their health condition will be shared with state home department and Arthur Chipang, in-charge Central Control Room.
The trucks will drive upto ISBT and report to a police team to be stationed by SP, Imphal West.
Transport department shall allow the handyman and the drivers to utilize the accommodation and toilet facilities available at ISBT.
Deputy commissioner, Imphal West shall arrange fooding of drivers and handyman out of the funds available under SDRF.
The trucks can unload their goods in the respective godowns as per schedule prepared by DC/SP Imphal West.
The LPG bullets will report to the Sekmai bottling plant and stay there.
Oil tankers will report to Malom Oil depot and stay.
DC, Imphal West is to provide food for the drivers and handyman at the two locations above. SP, Imphal West is to ensure that these drivers/handyman do not move out from these locations.
