Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh expressed his profound gratitude to individuals and organisations who have so far donated to the Chief Minister’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Proprietor of Sangai Express (a Manipur daily), Nishikant Singh Sapam on Saturday donated a sum of Rs 5 lakh. He handed a cheque to the chief minister at his secretariat.
Proprietor, N.D. Industries producing Bisleri brand packaged drinking water, N. Dhinel Singh on the same day donated Rs 1 lakh to the relief fund. He handed over the sum to Biren in the presence of principal secretary (GAD) P. Vaiphei at the chief minister’s secretariat.
Dhinel also assured that Bisleri would provide water free of cost to the police personnel on duty, chief minister’s secretariat, Manipur Police HQ, General Administration department, etc. during the 21-day lockdown imposed to fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
He expressed his hope that more organisations and people would come forward to fight collectively against COVID-19.

A total of Rs 22,56,000 have been contributed to the relief fund on Saturday.
MLA Awangbow Newmai, Namsinrei Panmei, chairman of ADC Tamenglong and D. Ringo, chairman of ADC Chandel donated Rs 1 lakh each.
The Liberal College Employees Association donated Rs 3 lakh, Jain Samaj donated Rs 3 lakh, Sanathan Samaj donated Rs 2 lakh, the Manipur Secretariat Assistant Group donated Rs 1 lakh, Shiv Sena Sang donated Rs 1 lakh, Sikh Samaj donated Rs 1.51 lakh, L. Sharat Singh of Sarajeevan Enterprise donated Rs 1 lakh, Koijam Gyaneswor Singh donated Rs 1 lakh, Shri Karam Kashi donated Rs 1 lakh, and Yumnam Gunindro Mangang donated Rs 5,000 to the relief fund.
