Imphal, February 1, 2018(DIPR): CAF & PD, Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Minister Shri Karam Shyam today said one oil tanker was found guilty of supplying adulterated oil to PCTC. He also said the Government is committed to maintain transparency regarding the matter and warned stern action against those who disobey the IOC rules.
At a press conference held at the Minister’s office today at Old Secretariat, the Minister said according to IOC report, testing was conducted from oil samples of the Oil Tanker taken from PCTC, Malom Depot and Tinsukia Supply Unit. The oil samples tests were conducted following the complaint made by Hon’ble Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Shri Y. Khemchand.
The oil samples were tested at the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Digboi. The sample test of the oil tanker of Tinsukia Supply Unit was found normal while adulteration was found in sample from Malom Depot and PCTC. The flashpoint from the samples recorded 0 (zero) at Malom and PCTC as compared to standard minimum value of 35. He also said the IOC has already sent back adulterated oil from the same tanker from PCTC.
The Minister said as per IOC report, there is evidence of adulteration carried out by transporter M S Janoka Devi Acharya (vehicle number MN01AA0389). IOC officials will take up necessary action to blacklist his challan. He said as per IOC rules, any vehicle and transporter found guilty of any wrong-doings will be blacklisted and their license will be cancelled.
