Pothashang News Service : Imphal, February 23: Manipur organic products were displayed in the 2-day North East India-Myanmar EXIM Conclave that was launched today at the conference hall of Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Manipur occupied a stall represented by Debadutta Sharma in collaboration with Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) along with organic products produced in Manipur. Varieties of unique products of NE were displayed in eight (8) stalls at the conclave.
The conclave aims at promoting trade for horticulture, handloom and handicrafts, bamboo products of North Eastern states of India. Three memorandum of understanding were signed between Myanmar and North Eastern Foundation. The Focus was on trade between North East states of India and Myanmar with destination at Bankok.
The conclave is organised by Norh Eastern Foundation with the support of DoNER ministry, GOI, and Myanmar Chamber of Commerce.
Minister of commerce and industries, consulate general of India and large number of dignitaries from both India and Myanmar were present on the opening day.
About 100 delegates including various stakeholders of both the countries are taking part in the conclave that would conclude on Saturday. Debadutta has also made a brief presentation on potential of organic commodities of Manipur.
Apart from horticulture and handloom and handicrafts products, education sector was also emphasised in the speech of consulate general of India, Myanmar in the backdrop of Act East Asia.
