Imphal, the 15th February, 2018 (DIPR) : Lui-Ngai-Ni (Naga Seed Sowing Festival)- 2018 started today at Longmai Common Ground with Shri. L. Dikho, Minister of Printing, Stationery and PHED as the Chief Guest and Shri. Samuel Jendai Kamei and Shri. Leshiyo Keishing as the Guest of Honour of the function.
While delivering his address Shri. L. Dikho stated that the uniqueness of rich culture of forefather is needed to be revived and preserved. He further appeals the people from different community to live in peace and harmony which is the need of the hour.
16 unit of Nagas tribe living in Manipur came and participated in the Lui-Ngai-Ni- 2018 which is hosted by Zeliangrong Baudi(M). It may be mentioned that out of many festivals celebrated, this seed sowing festival is celebrated almost simultaneously on the onset of spring to signify propitious time. It has rekindled the glorious traditions and value of the past.
Various dignitaries from different frontal organization of the state were also present. Cultural troupes of different communities performed folk song, dances, etc.
The celebration of the Lui-Ngai-Ni will conclude tomorrow.
