Imphal, January 20, 2018: Kapaam (Komlathabi) village authority has appealed the chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh to provide ambulance, oxygen cylinders and laboratory technicians in a memorandum submitted through deputy commissioner of Chandel.
The memorandum was submitted on January 18.
Roel Jindashing Moyon, chief of the Kapaam village authority in the memorandum representing the Komlathabi village (which was later named as Kapaam village) and above 30 other villages stated the primary health centre (PHC) at Komlathabi is fully functioning round the clock since its inauguration on July 25, 2015 by rendering a yeoman service and giving emergency and institutional delivery without having the provision of oxygen and ambulance, which is risky in hill areas.
It was also stated that the then health director made a surprise visit at the PHC on August 16, 2016 and assured to provide an ambulance, oxygen cylinders and other equipments. But the assurance has so far not turned into action, added the village chief.
It also drew the attention of the chief minister to improve eight physical health sub centres in Chandel district.
