Imphal, January 21, 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Shri Thokchom Radhehsyam said school is a holy place for learning’ providing formal education to the children – the future pillar – that hold the key to solve all the problems for better future. Thus, a necessity, that right infrastructure is maintained at the schools.
The Minister made the statement at the foundation stone laying function for the construction of main building of The Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, Langmeidong. Acknowledging high enrolment of students in the Government schools in rural areas, he further added that the decision to improve the school’s infrastructure was a right one, taken after inspecting the school few months back, with the concern MLA of Hiyanglam A/C Dr. Y. Radhehsyam.
He said that the school should be regarded as the property of their own by the public. Appealing the gathering, he said that it should be everyone’s concern to check if the quality of the construction of the main school building is maintained, once started. Education being a compulsion for all the children, it is very important that the best is provided to them. Learning and teaching, though present everywhere, he said, proper formal education is imparted only through school.
The foundation stone laying function was attended by MLA of Hiyanglam A/C Dr. Y. Radhehsyam, Director of Education (S) Shri Th. Kirankumar, Principal, Zilla Parishad Members, teachers, non teaching staffs and students.
