Imphal, December 24, 2017: Churachandpur Sector of Assam Rifles yesterday felicitated 90 boys who have been selected in Army during the Army Recruitment Rally held from 03-10 October 2017 at Leimakhong.
The felicitation programme was organised at District Training Centre, Tuibong.
V. Hangkhanlian, minister of agriculture, animal husbandry and veterinary, L Jayanta kumar Singh, Minister of Health, law, arts & culture were present on the occasion. The event was also attended by Brigadier Ajay Kumar, commander, churachandpur sector, Assam Rifles, Khaipo Haokip Chairman ADC Churachandpur, Shyamlal Punia, DC Churachandpur, Rakesh Balwal, IPS, superintendent of police, district administrative officers, members of Autonomous Development Council, Churachandpur, members of various socio political organizations of the district including student leaders and noted personalities of the district.
The efforts for getting these boys selected had commenced in Jul 2017 with the registration of the aspirants. The boys were helped in registration and were thereafter trained for physical and medical tests. All the young boys who cleared the physical and medical tests were then put up through coaching for written tests and mock examinations were also conducted. Selection in such large number demonstrates the hard work and will of the young boys to excel, and also the focussed training given by the Army and Assam Rifles to these young achievers. The success reaffirms the commitment of Army towards the goal of nation building. These 90 youth will soon be joining the Army for their training and will make Churachandpur proud by serving in different parts of the country and bringing laurels to the district. Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles, “Friends of the Hill People”, has emerged as a force committed to the holistic development of the region and in the last one and a half years, has placed focused efforts towards training the youth for selection into CAPFs & Army through the well crafted training capsules through its battalions namely Khuga Battalion and Churachandpur Battalion.
Hankhalian lauded the hard work and dedication of the youth, who made full use of the opportunity, provided by Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles and secured a place for themselves in the ever growing competitive world. He also highlighted that these youth are the flag bearers of tomorrow and this achievement will mark a definite change in their life and they will act as role model for others. He appealed to the youth to gain maximum advantage of the premium training facilities being provided by Assam Rifles and contribute to the society. Brigadier Ajay Kumar congratulated all the students and praised their sincerity, dedication and hard work, without which their achievements would have remained a distant dream. He expressed hope that these young minds will strive for excellence in their endeavours and tread the unbeaten paths. One of the selected candidate, Khupgin Muan, son of Khupkhai of S. Zezaw, Churachandpur, said on occasion that he was from a big family of seven brothers and sisters and his father is a farmer. Since childhood, he used to admire Army people. Due to the selfless efforts of Churachandpur Assam Rifles Sector, he has now managed to fulfil his dream of joining Army. He will be able to take better care of his family and would be able to contribute towards their well being
The aim of organising this event was not only to recognise and felicitate the hard work of the selected candidates but also to create awareness among the youth to join such employment generating programmes and contribute in nation building. The programme was a major step in enhancing the confidence of people in Security Forces and motivating the youth to a great extent. The sincere efforts and noble intent of the security forces was lauded by one and all present at the occasion, said a press statement by IGAR (south).
