Imphal, November 08, 2017 : Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has assured the students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur to extend all possible help in solving their grievances.
The Chief Minister visited the campus of NIT Manipur and inspected different blocks, labs, hostels and classrooms of the Central Government Institute at Lamphelpat today.
He also interacted with NIT authority and students to discuss the grievances of the students.
Regarding students’ concern about their security, the Chief Minister said that he had requested the higher authority of CRPF to depute a team of the Central paramilitary force at the campus.
He exhorted the students to stay calm and feel at home because the State Government is ready to extend all possible help in maintaining a good and peaceful academic atmosphere at the campus.
Biren also provided his personal mobile phone numbers to students and asked them to inform him directly if they have any problem.
Biren also told the students that he had apprised Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar about the inadequacies of the Institute and students’ demands.
The Chief Minister further informed that Prakash Javadekar had responded positively to his request of sending a Central inspection team to the Institute.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister also instructed the NIT authority to attend to students’ grievances and inform the State Government about any problem on time in future. (DIPR)
