Senapati, October 9,2017 (DIO): In continuation of the Swachhta pakhwada ( Cleanliness fortnight),which started on the 1st of this month for Senapati District, a one day cleanliness workshop was organised by the District Rural Development Agency, Senapati under the Watershed Component (IWMP),WCDC Level at the DRDA conference Hall here today. Experts from many different departments delivered lectures on managing and controlling pollution for a clean living environment.
Speaking on the occasion Ng.Robin, ADM, Senapati, Joint secretary, Goverment of India, say that we need discipline, effort and hard work for maintaining cleanliness. He opined that we should give emphasis on incentives for effectiveness of cleanliness drives and should avoid free rides and take our own responsibilities in keeping our surroundings clean.
Speaking on E-Waste Management Shri Imopishak Thingom,Scientist-D,NIELIT,Imphal, he talks about the relevance of E-Waste management and its effects in our lives. He speaks about the aspects of life cycles of electronics and said that we should minimize the disposal and increases its re-uses. He also further said that
E-Wastes are overtaking the household waste in many of the developed countries and we need an action plan for the future management of the e-waste before it goes out of hand .In his lecture he also enumerates about the E-Waste hazards etc.
As part of today’s workshop, Shri Namshinlung Kamei, Secretary of “NEW EDEN VILLAGE”, one of the cleanness village of Senapati District shared their experience of developing a clean and eco friendly village.
As part of the workshop Shri Rajesh AM, IFS Divisional Forest Officer, Senapati forest Div. talks on the topic of Conservation of natural resources including rivers and streams.
The workshop was attended by all the stake holders of Districts.
