Imphal, September 15, 2017 (DIPR): Education Minister Radheshyam inaugurated the 50-bedded Sports’ Hostel of Waikhom Mani Girls’ College, Thoubal today. It was constructed under the University Grant Commission’s sponsorship to facilitate the girls’ student of the college who are associated with games and sports of different disciplines.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister said that people involved in education need to put extra effort to be able to address the issues of increasing number of drop – out among the youths after attaining certain educational standards. He said, in an effort to identify the reason for the drop out a survey is being also conducted. He said the teachers of the college or any educational institution should take an initiative to find a solution for the increasing numbers of drop – out.
Lauding the effort of the teachers in imparting education, he said the girls of the college should be encouraged to become great personality to become an example for others. Going to an educational institution to obtain an education should not be done as fashion, but must be to imbibe and gain the quality to become better humans, a contributive citizen of the society. He further added that the students need to realize of why education is being imparted.
Retired Additional Director Higher Education, Dr. R.K. Yaishkul Singh said that the student needs to take as much interest so that they can make their teachers able to conduct their duty perfectly.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Director, College Development Council, Manipur University Professor Th. Ratankumar, Chairman of the Governing body W. Ranjit Singh, Principal Dr. O. Ibeton Devi teachers, faculties and student of the college.
