Imphal, September 27, 2017 (DIPR): Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister and also the local MLA Smt Nemcha Kipgen today inaugurated D. Phaihel Ground at D. Phaihel, Kangpokpi District. During the occasion, Invitation Football Tournament – 2017 was also kicked off at the newly inaugurated ground.
Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Social Welfare Minister lauded the efforts of the people of this area for considerably improving their way of living and said, it is all God’s grace that the people have now seen a lot of development in recent times.
With the inauguration of such playground, there will be more scope for sports lovers to hone their skills and represent the state and the country in the near future, she asserted.
Nemcha continued “Sports develop a sense of unity, team spirit, discipline, co-operation, determination and the urge to be a winner. Through sports, people get the opportunity to socialize and to develop mutual love and understanding. Being a sportsperson or sports enthusiast, you need to maintain your health with good dietary habits and live a discipline lifestyle.”
She also draws the attention of the masses gathered to utilize the centrally sponsored scheme meant for development efficiently and not to utilize such schemes or projects for one’s own personal gain. In this way, the standard of living of the people can be improved and take it to the next step.
Chairman, Sadar Hills, ADC Kangpokpi Shri Haokholal Hangshing, IPS Shri Lunsieh Kipgen, Shri Haotinlen Vaiphei and Rev. Paongam Chongloi graced the inaugural ceremony as Guest of Honour, President and Special Guests respectively.
