Imphal, September 8: “We have started bearing fruit of skill development programme”, said Wahengbam Rorrkychand Singh, a human resource promoter who has been dedicating as chief of Human Skill Empowerment Center (HSEC), Keishamthong, Imphal West.
Rorrkychand was speaking at the Certificate Award Ceremony of Successful PMVKY (Pradhan Matri Kaushal Vikash Yojna) Trainees at Manipur Press Club, organised by HSEC.
The empowerment center has been taking up skill training programmes under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and National Skill Development Corporation as well as digital literacy programmes under PMVKY, Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and Digital India, since January 2016 in Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Bishnupur districts.
During this period HSEC has provided the opportunity to 450 youths to train under PMVKY and ESDM and under National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) about 1,500 persons were given to get digital literacy. So, far HSEC has trained 240 unemployed youths from different parts of the state. Out of which 70 % were given job placement across the state. It also helps the trainees to get loans from financial institutions to establish their enterprises.
The objective of NSEC is to help sove the problem of unemployment and increse skilled work force, said Rorrkichand.
HSEC is registered under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and also an accredited skill development center under PMKVY of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
It has been imparting three months free computer based skills.
Some of the higher level achievers who were placed at different sectors were introduced in the certificate award ceremony in presence of Professor Amar Yumnam (economist) and Moirangthem Ashnikumar, vice chairperson Manipur infrastructural development agency.
Awareness of Blood Donation programme was also organised ahead of the certificate award ceremony.
