Imphal, September 25: MLA, Khumukcham Joykishan of Thangmeiband today said cow has high value comparing to the people of North East while he was protesting at Khoyathong Andolan Keithel along with the people of Thangmeiband over missing of a man from Manipur in Delhi and alleged suspicious death of a Manipuri student in Noida.
People alleged Prabish Chanam an engineering student from Uripok, Imphal who went on missing since September 8 in Noida was found cremated by police despite of complaints made twice to the police on September 9 and on September 11. The family of Prabish alleged that the Knowledge Park Police Station cremated the body of Prabish Chanam on September 13 as unclaimed death body without giving any information to his family.
While people were crying over Prabish’s death, Taorem Bittoo, 38 of Thangmeiband Polem Leikai who went to Delhi along with his mother for her eye treatment has been missing since September 13. A case was filed at Vasant Kunj North police station on the same day. His where about still remained uncertain.
Joykishan said “The suspicious death of Prabish Chanam in Noida and the missing of another from Manipur in Delhi shows the condition of the North East people in other parts of the country.”
“The death of Prabish and missing of Bitoo is blind to the governemnt. If a cow had been killed India would have been under fire. It is unfortunate that cow values high than the people of the North East.” Said Joykishan.
An FIR was lodged to Delhi police and the Thangmeiband Youth Organisation has also submitted a memorandum to the chief minister, but the silence of the government shows that the government is not interested in the welfare of the people, said Joykishan.
Innumerable numbers of North East people gone missing as reported in newspapers every 2 – 3 days. Where are they? There has been allegations of possible existence of organ traders in the nation. Who are involved in this? Asked Joykishan.

He appealed the people of the state to unitedly find out the cause of this issue so that people of the state can be saved from such situation.
Bittoo’s mother was recovring from her ailing eyes but now she has caught in different trauma with high hiper tension denying food when his son never returned from his evening walk, said a relative of Bittoo.
