Imphal, September 4: A one day consultation program on Child Trafficking and Child Sexual Assault (CSA) was today organised at Tengnoupal Police Station, by New Era Environmental Development and Society in collaboration and supported by Child Rights and You.
The consultation was focused on “Police personal posted on highway”.
The programme was conducted with the objectives to prevent the vulnerable children from the being trafficked; to sensitize the police especially posted on highways; and to network the police and child activist in preventing the child trafficking to the South Asia Countries from the State, Manipur.
In the first session “Child Trafficking Scenario in Manipur State, Roles and responsibilities of police, Causes, Trafficker, and Destinations” were presented by resource person, K. Pradip Kumar, member, Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR)
In the second Session, by Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, MPS, SP Tengnoupal presented lecture on the Gaps and challenges faced by police department in implementation of Child Rights laws.
A discussion session concluded the day.
