Bihang will be the second gate way for the act-east policy: Biren

Imphal, September 12: Bihang in churachandpur district will be the second gate way under the act-east policy, said chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh at a reception programme at Lamka ground in Churchandpur district.

Biren Singh and his council of ministers were recieved amid dance and music by various communities in the ceremony organised by autonomous district council of Churachandpur.

He said, detail project report of Rs 30 crore has been prepared for the construction of the road for the second gateway. The expressed on need of joint efforts by the people of the state and the government to take the state forward to develop in every field.

Peace has been retained now in the state. People and the government need to work collectively for development in every field.

Hangkhanlian, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry drew the attention of the chief minister and highlighted the need for repairing the road ways of the district and availability of health care facilities to the people. He also poinetd out the need for medical college and a university in the district.

A memorandum was submitted by Khaipao Haokip, chairman of autonomous district council, Churachandpur to Biren Singh demanding setting up of B.Ed College, Medical College and provision for clean and safety water for drinking in the Churachandpur District.

Minister, MLAs’, Police and Civil officials were also facilitated in the occasion where students and representatives of various civil society organisations participated.
