Imphal,20th September,2017 (DIPR): Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh, Minister, Health & Family Welfare today inspected the old Ukhrul District Hospital which is proposed for construction of Ayush Hospital and also inspected the site for Ukhrul District High Court.
The Minister met the doctors and staffs of the National Health Mission. During the inspection, the contractual staff of NHM submitted a memorandum for regularisation of service. The Minister assured that he will look into the matter and will draw the attention of the Chief Minister for regularising their service and also further informed that any shortage of infrastructure will be provided as soon as possible since health sector in the district needs to be developed in line with manpower. The old equipments need to be changed because new equipments with advance technology are already available. It is the responsibility of everyone involved to develop health sector in the district.
The Minister specify that the reason for visiting is to establish the Ayush Hospital in the old District Hospital as land is already available and the district is also known to have lots of medicinal plants. For establishing Ayush Hospital, the approval and participation of the locals is needed, he added.
He further said that 5 retired Specialist will be engaged to visit patients and perform operations in the far flung areas of the state. The Minister also visited the new District Hospital and had discussion with the staffs who aired their grievances regarding shortage of infrastructures such as living quarters for Doctors and staff from other districts posted there, shortage of water, and leakages of the roof of the building.
The Minister who is also in charge of Law in the state also visited the construction site of the District High Court. On being asked about the Mosque present inside the construction site, he informed that it will be shifted to another place as soon as land is identified.
The Minister was accompanied by Director (Health & Family Welfare), Director ( Ayush) and staff of the concerned departments during the inspection.
